How The Courts Review Executive Orders
President Donald Trump has signed a dozen wide-ranging executive orders since taking office, and some of them have already been challenged in court. His executive order regarding immigration has been stayed by a federal district court in Washington and that stay was upheld by the Ninth Circuit. And a suit has been filed in the District of Columbia that challenges his executive order directing agencies to eliminate two existing regulations for every new regulation that they adopt.
