SEC Removes PCAOB Chairman—Seeks To Replace Entire Board
Continuing a recent spate of agency announcements and public statements focused on market risk and investor protection, on June 4, 2021, the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) announced its removal of William D. Duhnke III as Chairperson of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)—a nonprofit established under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 to oversee the audits of financial statements of public companies.
