Holland & Knight handle convention

Gulf Coast Business Review

Public Companies and Securities Practice Leader Robert Grammig was quoted in a Gulf Coast Business Review article titled, "Holland & Knight handle convention."

The article reports that Holland & Knight has been chosen to represent the host committee for the 2012 Republican National Convention. The firm handled legal issues leading up to the selection of the Tampa Bay area as the GOP's convention site, negotiated the weeklong lease of the St. Pete Times Forum, where the convention will be held, and is now advising the committee on its efforts to secure 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Although the committee will pay the firm customary fees for its services, Holland & Knight has already conducted more than $100,000 in pro bono work. Mr. Grammig pointed out that the firm has a good bipartisan balance and its association with the GOP convention doesn't necessarily color it Republican red. "The fact that we've got both sides covered is important to our clients," he said.
