This article discusses Media Law Partner Scott Ponce’s efforts on behalf of the Miami Herald to unseal records in the case against former Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina.
Two magistrate hearings, a district court hearing and a half-dozen documents were revealed after Mr. Ponce persuaded Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman to release the records. These records were previously kept from the public because of a federal court order but surfaced during the criminal tax-evasion case against the former mayor and his wife.
