Attorneys: Switch Back To CWLP Could Cost Chatham Millions
Complaints by Chatham, Ill., residents about water quality prompted a debate in the village about switching suppliers. Attorneys Gregory Meeder and Barbara Adams informed village officials that switching from the South Sangamon Water Commission back to City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) could cost millions.
"There would be multi-party litigation, multiple lawsuits, declarations of defaults and property tax levies. It's a horrifying concept, quite frankly," said Mr. Meeder.
