Alaska AG's Letter Brings Tribes, State Eye-To-Eye

Alaska's Attorney General Jahna Lindemuth recognized the sovereignty of tribal governments in a recent legal opinion letter.

By recognizing the existence of tribes in Alaska and clarifying their powers, Lindemuth’s opinion has “really resolved a lot of the issues that always had to be debated,” particularly with past attorneys general, said Partner Philip Baker-Shenk.
