In an interview with Tampa Bay Business Journal, Real Estate Partner Rick Eckhard spoke about his role in one of Silicon Valley's largest real estate deals this year.
"It started out as a development deal. Verizon acquired Yahoo, and Yahoo had this large multi-building campus in Silicon Valley. The initial thought was, 'Why don’t we develop this land?' They looked for joint venture partners, but in the middle of that process, Google came forward and said, 'We’d like to buy the campus, name your price,' and we started down that road with Google. It probably took over a year from that initial contact to get them to agree on a purchase agreement," Mr. Eckhard said when asked about some of the challenges when putting the deal together.
