Feds Mull Blocking John Malone’s Sirius-iHeartRadio Merger
Partner David Kully was quoted by the New York Post about the U.S. Department of Justice's possible decision to review SiriusXM parent Liberty Media's potential merger with ad-revenue rival iHeartRadio over antitrust concerns.
Mr. Kully explained that, after the merger, Sirius could have reduced incentives to invest to maintain iHeart's station because listeners might subscribe to the satellite radio service. "They could not rule out the potential of harm to listeners from this acquisition," he said.
