Litigation Partner Frances Guasch De La Guardia was interviewed by the Daily Business Review about her pro bono work for the residents of Puerto Rico. Ms. De La Guardia was nervously monitoring Tropical Storm Laura from her home as it pounded Puerto Rico with rain last month. She knew the island was still reeling from Hurricane Maria’s devastation three years ago. And the thought of another setback to the Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory troubled her.
“Not again,” Ms. De La Guardia said. “These poor people, some of whom still have not fully recovered, have to face another natural disaster.” The article goes on to describe how Ms. De La Guardia got involved in the legal profession and how she expanded her pro bono work.
