Partner Danilo Romero Raad was cited in an Asuntos Legales
article in which he gives his opinion on the rights of airline passengers amid what many have termed "the new normal." The Colombian government recently issued Decree 482 of 2020, which established that airlines are not obligated to offer reimbursements in cash but rather can offer services or vouchers to be used at a later date. Mr. Romero Raad explained the rights of passengers in the event that an airline decides to cancel a flight.
"In the event that the airline decides to cancel the flight, if the passenger has a confirmed reservation and the price of the ticket has not been reimbursed, the company must pay for the passenger's lodging and transportation expenses," he said.
