Biden Immigration Bill Would Reportedly Make Green Cards, Citizenship Easier for DACA Recipients

Immigration Partner Leon Fresco was cited in a Newsweek article analyzing the Biden Administration's plan for immigration policy. Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris has referenced reforms focused on making the pathway to citizenship easier, such as decreasing the amount of time required and granting green cards to individuals protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Mr. Fresco commented on the difficulties the Biden Administration may face when attempting to replace policies enacted under the Trump Administration.

"The majority of the Trump administration immigration reforms will be difficult to address immediately either because of legal rule-making barriers, practical realities on the ground or a lack of bandwidth given how many priorities the Biden administration has in contrast to the singular focus on immigration the Trump immigration had," he said.
