2022 40 Under 40: Austin Thacker Champions Construction Projects and Neglected Children

Construction attorney Austin Thacker was named one of Orlando Business Journal's 2022 40 Under 40 honorees, a group comprising outstanding young professionals in Central Florida. Mr. Thacker was recognized for his dedication to community service, including his role as guardian ad litem for the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, where he advocates for children who are suspected to be victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment. He spoke with the publication about his proudest achievements and career goals as well as light-hearted topics like his coffee preferences and family.

"It has been really fun helping Orangewood Christian School through the design and construction of the new buildings at its lower school campus," Mr. Thacker said when asked about his community involvement efforts. "It has been something we dreamed about years ago, and it has been fun watching that dream come to life. In addition, my children (who attend school there) get to see the progress every day, and we get to talk about what it means to build something from the ground up, literally and figuratively. That has been a rewarding project in so many respects, and it has provided opportunities for me to discuss my job, my faith and other life lessons with my children on a regular basis."
