Former Members Trade Capitol Perks for Lucrative Influence Jobs
Government relations attorney Ed Perlmutter was quoted in a Bloomberg Government article recapping how former members of Congress have fared at new gigs in the private sector. Mr. Perlmutter joined Holland & Knight earlier this year after serving eight terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, including on the House Committee on Financial Services. He is based in the firm's Denver and Washington, D.C., offices and works on real estate, banking and oil and gas matters, in addition to lobbying state lawmakers in Colorado. He commented on the transition to finding new business after 16 years on Capitol Hill.
"It's been harder than I expected, but you got to get the rust out," he said.
