Managing Partner Steven Sonberg was quoted in a Best Law Firms article that discusses the increase in law firm mergers. Pulling from his experience of the combination of Holland & Knight and the former law firm Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis earlier in 2023, Mr. Sonberg provided his insight on why we have seen a rise in mergers and acquisitions in the legal services industry.
“Law firms are beginning to see that scale gives considerable advantages, especially if it’s done in a focused way that builds on existing strengths,” Mr. Sonberg explained. “There is a significant value proposition for clients to hire a firm that knows them well and can handle almost any emergent need.”
