'Cutting-Edge Application': EV Charging Station Co. May Choose Power Supplier, Divided Panel Rules
Regulatory and administrative law attorney Robert Highsmith analyzed the Georgia Court of Appeals' divided ruling classifying electric vehicle (EV) charging station companies as individual electric utility users in an article by Daily Report. The court interpreted the Territorial Electric Service Act of 1973 and decided companies can pick their own electricity provider. This is a noteworthy ruling as users usually have to use the designated provider in their area.
“It’s a cutting-edge application of an older statute,” Mr. Highsmith said.
