City Faces New Lawsuits Over Builder's Remedy Projects on Wilshire Boulevard
Beverly Hills Courier
West Coast Land Use and Environment attorney Ryan Leaderman was quoted in a Beverly Hills Courier article about two new lawsuits filed against the city of Beverly Hills challenging the denial of Builder's Remedy project applications at 8800 and 8820 Wilshire Boulevard. The lawsuits contend the city violated California's Housing Accountability Act and Permit Streamlining Act by unfairly rejecting timely applications and changes made to the projects. Mr. Leaderman emphasized that the city is imposing unlawful restrictions not supported by state law.
"The statute...does not say you can't change your project. The city is reading in a requirement that doesn’t exist in the law," he said.
