Ministry of Labor Investigates 75 Cases Similar to Those Reported Against Tiendas D1
La República
Labor and employment attorney Camilo Cuervo was interviewed by La República about the labor complaints against Tiendas D1, the hard discount giant in Colombia. Mr. Cuervo highlighted that many of these accusations have a political angle and are based on anonymous testimonies, while the company has demonstrated through various investigations that has complied with current labor regulations. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring due process before imposing any sanctions.
"Whether the company committed an infraction or not, first it must be investigated, second due process must be guaranteed, and after all due process has been exhausted, it will be determined whether any responsibility exists," he said.
