This Is the Scope of the Proposal to Modify Environmental Licenses for Wind Energy Projects in Colombia
Environmental attorney María Camila Aponte was featured in an article with Semana magazine about a bill to transform the process for obtaining an environmental license for wind energy projects in Colombia. The initiative, known as Environmental Wind License with Optimized Design (LaEólica), counts among its objectives making this process more flexible and facilitating investment in strategic projects for the energy transition. Ms. Aponte talked about the technical criteria for these projects, localization and design conditions, and opportunities that LaEólica opens to diversify the country's energy matrix.
"LaEólica will contribute to the decarbonization of the electric sector, allowing Colombia to advance in compliance with its international commitments to mitigate climate change," she said. "It is fundamental to attract investment to incentivize execution of projects that allow the country to progress in a responsible energy transition."
