Big Law Talent Battle Accelerates in Congressional Investigation Practices

The American Lawyer

Congressional Investigations attorney Ashley Chavous was cited in an article published by The American Lawyer examining growing competition among large law firms to build out dedicated congressional investigations practices ahead of the midterm elections. The article noted that firms are responding to increased client demand, heightened oversight activity and the need for counsel equipped to handle fast-moving, high-stakes matters involving senior executives. Ms. Chavous, who herself recently joined Holland & Knight to expand the firm's capabilities in this area, also highlighted the value of having lawyers like her with firsthand experience navigating congressional inquiries and guiding clients through rapidly developing situations.

"Demand for this kind of expertise is only growing, and I think that's a reflection of companies themselves recognizing that congressional risk is not episodic, but in this environment and for the foreseeable future, a standing part of the landscape," she said.
