Holland & Knight Corporate Lawyers in South Florida Recognized by Chambers USA

Five South Florida Lawyers recognized for Corporate and M&A – the most of any law firm in South Florida

MIAMI - Lawyers in Holland & Knight's South Florida Public Company & Securities practice have recently been recognized by Chambers USA for 2007. Chambers USA – America's Leading Business Lawyers recognizes the lawyers it considers to be the nation's leading business lawyers in 2007. Chambers USA is designed to reflect market opinion through a year’s worth of surveys of clients and lawyers across the U.S. It is one of a series of Chambers and Partners independent, objective and research-based guides to the legal profession.

The lawyers in the South Florida Public Company & Securities practice that were recognized this year were Steven Sonberg, Rodney Bell, Kara MacCullough, Harvey Goldman, and David Perry. Among the transactions cited by Chambers USA in its research were the following:

  • $4.2 billion sale of Kos Pharmaceuticals to Abbott Laboratories
  • $780 million sale of Watkins Motor Lines to FedEx
  • $250 million offerings by SBA Communications
  • $70 million merger of Mayor's Jewelers with Henry Birks & Sons, Inc.

Steven Sonberg was recognized for the fourth time by Chambers USA and has been recognized every year that the publication has ranked Florida lawyers. Mr. Sonberg heads the firm's 325-lawyer business law section.

Rodney Bell was recognized for the fourth time by Chambers USA and has been recognized every year that the publication has ranked Florida lawyers. Mr. Bell heads the South Florida Public Company & Securities practice group for the firm.

Kara MacCullough was recognized for the second time by Chambers USA. The former head of the securities practice at another law firm, Ms. MacCullough has significant experience in all manner of capital raising transactions.

Harvey Goldman was recognized for the first time by Chambers USA. Mr. Goldman was cited by Chambers USA for his experience advising boards of directors.

David Perry was recognized for the first time by Chambers USA. Among the accomplishments mentioned for Mr. Perry was the significant work he has performed for ION Media Networks.

In addition to the individual recognition garnered by the lawyers in the South Florida Public Company & Securities practice, Holland & Knight LLP as a firm received a number 1 ranking for its corporate and M&A work in the State of Florida. This is the third consecutive year that Holland & Knight has received a number 1 ranking by Chambers USA. Overall, 90 lawyers at Holland & Knight were recognized as leading lawyers in 2007.
