Holland & Knight Attorney Leonard H. Gilbert Elected to Serve on the ALI-ABA Board of Directors

Tampa, FL – August 10, 2009 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Leonard H. Gilbert, an attorney in the firm's Tampa office, was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Law Institute and American Bar Association (ALI-ABA). Gilbert is one of 12 board members who will serve a four-year term.

Established by the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association in 1947, ALI-ABA provides a national program of continuing legal education (CLE) featuring traditional substantive CLE courses, litigation and transactional skills programs, distance learning courses, published books and periodicals, online materials, customized solutions for institutions and in-house services for lawyers at every stage of their careers. They are nationally recognized as a leader in all aspects of CLE.

Gilbert, a Life Member of ALI and a member of ABA for more that 45 years, is a partner with Holland & Knight and a member of the firm's Financial Services Practice Group. His practice areas include banking, commercial finance, asset based lending, creditors' rights, insolvency, arbitration and commercial litigation, as well as maintaining an active transactional practice. He is a former president of The Florida Bar and recently served on the ABA's Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, an organization that conducts the only peer reviews of nominees to the Federal Judiciary. Gilbert received his B.A. from Emory University and earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
