David Preiss Joins Holland & Knight's West Coast Land Use and Environment Practice Group

San Francisco, Calif. – July 7, 2010 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that David L. Preiss has joined the firm's San Francisco office as a partner in the firm's West Coast Land Use and Environmental Practice group. Preiss' practice focuses on land use and real estate with an emphasis on project development processing and entitlements, including general plan amendments, subdivisions, rezonings, use permits, development agreements, and related CEQA review and construction and transactional matters.

"We're delighted to have David bring his in-depth knowledge and expertise of land use and CEQA law to our clients," said Jennifer Hernandez, co-chair of Holland & Knight's national Environment team and chair of the firm's West Coast Land Use and Environmental Law Practice group.

Preiss has more than 25 years experience representing both private and public sector clients, and most recently was a partner at Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP in Oakland, California. Also prior to joining Holland & Knight, Preiss served as Vice President-Counsel for a regional developer of large mixed use residential, golf course and commercial projects. He has represented owners and developers in all phases of acquisition, development and disposition of residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Preiss received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Williams College, and earned his J.D. from the University of California, Davis.
