Holland & Knight Wins Government/Government Relations “Law Firm of the Year” Award

WASHINGTON (June 17, 2015) –  Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that it is this year's winner of the Legal 500 Government/Government Relations "Law Firm of the Year" Award. The firm will be honored at Legal 500's annual awards dinner in New York City on October 14.

Now in its second year, the Legal 500 U.S. Awards recognize the best in-house and private practice teams and individuals over the previous 12 months. The awards are based on in-depth research by the Legal 500 team and feedback from 250,000 in-house lawyers. Winners are chosen in more than 60 practice areas.

"Our entire team is honored by our selection as government/government relations law firm of the year," said Gerry Sikorski, the leader of Holland & Knight's Government Section. "We thank our clients for entrusting us with their most critical regulatory, legislative, procurement and public relations challenges, and we remain committed to providing them the most effective public policy advocacy possible to achieve their objectives."

"We have worked hard over the last decade to innovate in the policy advocacy space by creating an interdisciplinary team that is capable of advocating through lobbying, traditional and new media, before Congress and the Executive Branch in Washington, and around the country to achieve our clients' advocacy goals. This award is a credit to our clients who have collaborated with our team as we have embarked on this journey together to take government advocacy in a new direction," said Rich Gold, head of Holland & Knight's Public Policy & Regulation Group.

Holland & Knight is consistently ranked among the top 10 federal lobbying and law firms in Washington. The firm's government practice is a leader in integrating social media into its advocacy on behalf of clients and is the only law firm lobbying practice to date to eliminate billable hourly rates and move to a fixed-fee model. Its reputation for innovation extends to its nontraditional, open-concept office space, which facilitates interaction and collaboration. The firm also is a pioneer in forming coalitions to help shape policy, a strategy which recently resulted in the passage of groundbreaking legislation in the U.S. Congress to streamline the approval process for new, more effective sunscreen ingredients.

Holland & Knight's Government Section includes almost 150 attorneys and policy professionals engaged in local, tribal, state and federal government affairs, regulatory counseling and related disciplines. They provide a broad range of legal and professional services, from analyzing the impact of legislation to drafting legislation and amendments, preparing testimony, meeting with members of Congress, state legislators, regulators and other decision-makers, and providing strategic and communications counseling across a wide variety of industries and issues.
