Woody Vaughan Named New Leader of Holland & Knight's Atlanta Office

ATLANTA (February 27, 2020) – Holland & Knight Managing Partner Steven Sonberg has appointed Woody Vaughan to serve as executive partner of the firm's Atlanta office. Mr. Vaughan will oversee the day-to-day management of the 50-lawyer office, while continuing his busy public finance practice. He will continue the good work of Allen Maines, who served as executive partner in Atlanta for six years.

"Woody is well-known throughout Georgia for his work on significant economic development projects," said Mr. Sonberg. "He will bring great energy and thoughtfulness to the role of executive partner and we are proud to have him represent the firm in Atlanta."

"Holland & Knight's Atlanta office has undergone a transformation in the past 10 years," said Mr. Vaughan. "We have grown significantly, diversified our practice areas and earned multiple new clients. Our success is a reflection of Holland & Knight's increasing competitiveness at the national level, where we have experienced significant increases in revenue and profits each year for an entire decade."

"We've successfully recruited a number of high performing lawyers from other big law Atlanta firms," he continued. "We know what we liked and disliked at our prior firms and are building something new and special at Holland & Knight in Atlanta."

Mr. Vaughan joined Holland & Knight in 2014 from King & Spalding. His practice focuses on public finance transactions, economic development projects, public-private partnerships and multifamily housing finance. Mr. Vaughan has worked on some of the largest economic development incentive transactions ever completed in the state of Georgia.

Holland & Knight's Atlanta office was recently recognized as one of the Fastest-Growing Law Firms by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The firm also recently announced it has passed $1 billion in revenue for the first time. Overall, Holland & Knight's revenue has doubled over the past 10 years and profit per equity partner, now at $1.56 million, has risen 125 percent in that same time period.

Attorneys in the Atlanta office focus their representation of clients in the areas of commercial litigation, public and corporate finance and transactions, private wealth services, government advocacy, employment and real estate.
