Holland & Knight Represents Navisun in Acquisition of Community Solar Project in New Jersey
BOSTON (January 25, 2021) – Holland & Knight advised Navisun, a solar power producer that owns and operates distributed and small utility-scale solar projects, in the acquisition and development of a 4.5 MW solar generation project on a former municipal landfill in Linden, New Jersey. The representation also includes the subsequent negotiation of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement for the project. The deal closed on January 22.
The firm has advised Navisun in its acquisition of five solar projects, several tax equity financings and a number of ongoing transactions over the past year.
CS Energy is constructing the Linden project and Navisun will own and operate the completed facility, which is expected to be in service by the end of June. On completion, the Linden Hawk Rise Solar Project will convert a closed landfill site into a productive solar farm that will provide about 1,000 residents with clean electricity.
The Linden Hawk Rise Solar Project adds to Navisun's portfolio of solar projects, which includes numerous projects for municipal, commercial, residential, utility, and institutional partners across the United States. The company's typical project sizes range from 250KW to 30MW.
The Holland & Knight team representing Navisun includes Partner Mark Kalpin, Senior Counsel Nadya Makenko and Associate Saqib Hossain.
