Holland & Knight Welcomes Financial Services Partner Arthur Lotz in Dallas

DALLAS (January 11, 2023) – Holland & Knight has strengthened its financial services and private equity practices with the addition of Arthur Lotz as a partner in Dallas. Mr. Lotz's practice focuses on syndicated loan transactions, asset‐based and reserve‐based lending, and acquisition and leveraged finance for private equity firms, corporate borrowers and financial institutions. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, he was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Mr. Lotz represents clients in a broad array of industries, including private equity, energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, and technology and software. He also has extensive experience in handling in‐court and out‐of‐court debt restructurings, including debtor‐in‐possession and exit financings.

"Arthur's extensive experience in finance transactions complements the work of our attorneys in a wide variety of practice areas, including energy, private equity and technology," said Matthew Fontane, co-chair of Holland & Knight's Financial Services Practice Group. "We are thrilled to welcome him to our firm."

"Arthur has an outstanding reputation with clients and a very impressive deal sheet that further strengthens our private equity capabilities across key industries, including energy," said Jeremiah Mayfield, practice group leader for the Texas region of Holland & Knight's Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group. "As we continue to expand our private equity and energy practices in Texas, Arthur's strong technical skill set and background, plus his rapport with clients, will only benefit the growth of our firm."

Mr. Lotz is the sixth energy partner to join Holland & Knight's Texas offices since October, following Nancy Bostic, Ram Sunkara, Joshua Belcher, Ronnie Dabbasi and Paul Monsour, all in Houston.

"I am excited to join Holland & Knight's nationally recognized financial services practice and a firm well known for its teamwork and entrepreneurial culture," said Mr. Lotz. "Throughout my career I've had the pleasure of working opposite Holland & Knight attorneys on several deals, and after witnessing their practice and approach first-hand, I look forward to working with my new colleagues in Texas and beyond."

Mr. Lotz received a J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law and a B.B.A. degree in finance from Baruch College of the City University of New York. He is admitted to practice in Texas and New York.
