Seasoned Litigator Austin Rainwater Joins Holland & Knight’s New Seattle Office
SEATTLE (June 4, 2025) – Holland & Knight has bolstered its West Coast Litigation Practice Group and expanded its newest office in Seattle with the addition of Austin Rainwater as a partner. Mr. Rainwater was previously of counsel with DLA Piper.
“Austin is an outstanding addition to our new Seattle office. He will provide immediate commercial litigation support to the corporate attorneys in the office while also serving the needs of the national litigation practice,” said Matt Donohue, practice group leader of Holland & Knight’s West Coast Litigation Practice Group. “His established relationships with some of our Seattle attorneys and his strong ties to the market also make him a great fit.”
Holland & Knight announced the opening of its Seattle office this April under the leadership of Scott MacCormack, who joined the Firm in January. The office, which is Holland & Knight’s 35th office worldwide, complements its office in Portland, Oregon, and greatly expands the Firm’s reach in the Pacific Northwest.
Mr. Rainwater’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, consumer and privacy class actions, and insurance bad faith and fraud investigations. He has defended clients in a wide range of cases, including class action lawsuits, intellectual property disputes and major aviation accidents. His national litigation background includes claims related to business disputes, data privacy, employment, trade secrets, and food and alcohol products. Mr. Rainwater also has experience advising clients on issues, including regulatory compliance, product branding and distribution agreements, and insurance coverage disputes.
“The chance to contribute to the growth and success of Holland & Knight’s newest office was an opportunity that I could not pass up,” Mr. Rainwater said. “The Firm’s national platform and highly collaborative environment make it the ideal place for the next phase of my career.”
Mr. Rainwater earned a J.D. degree from Cornell Law School and a B.A. degree from Whitman College.
