Leading Environmental Transactions Partner Jeff Salinger Joins Holland & Knight in New York

NEW YORK (July 16, 2026) – Holland & Knight continues to strengthen its regulatory and corporate practices with the addition of Jeff Salinger as a partner in New York. For the past 25 years, Mr. Salinger has focused on environmental law in connection with corporate, finance and real estate transactions. Before joining Holland & Knight, he was a partner and U.S. co-chair of the industrials sector at DLA Piper.

"With environmental considerations playing a growing role in transactions, Jeff's substantial experience and skill set make him ideally suited to meet this critical need," said Nicole Elliott, co-leader of Holland & Knight's Regulatory Practice. "His addition represents an exciting opportunity for the Firm to enhance its Regulatory Practice by further growing our Environmental Team in a way that will support other practices and sections."

Mr. Salinger has served as lead environmental counsel to underwriters and issuers in hundreds of securities offerings, as well as in the issuance of representations and warranties insurance (RWI) policies. Mr. Salinger also counsels a wide array of clients on environmental compliance, environmental, health and safety (EHS) matters, climate-related disclosures, contaminated property issues and emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

"Jeff is well-known and respected among our core clients for handling particularly sophisticated work, including in the area of representations and warranties underwriting," said Aaron Slavens, chair of Holland & Knight's national Private Equity practice. "His investment background and primary focus on deal work make him an ideal fit for our group, which handles an incredible volume of middle-market deals each year."

"Jeff is a fantastic addition to our national environmental practice," said Matt Leopold, co-chair of Holland & Knight's Environmental Team. "Not only is Jeff an authority on environmental diligence in transactions, he also has a wealth of experience dealing with cutting-edge compliance issues related to health and safety, including PFAS. We are incredibly pleased to welcome him to the Firm."

"I'm excited to join Holland & Knight and to collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to help clients navigate environmental risks in their transactional matters," Mr. Salinger said. "With Holland & Knight consistently ranking as one of the most active firms in middle-market M&A league tables worldwide, I'll be able to make meaningful contributions to a wide variety of client deals, as well as work with other top environmental practitioners on cutting-edge projects."

Mr. Salinger served on the Council on the Environment of New York City for 13 years following his appointment by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2003. He has been consistently recognized as a top environmental transactions attorney by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 USA guide.

Mr. Salinger earned a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.
