Overview
Morgan Allred is a bankruptcy attorney in Holland & Knight's Birmingham office. Ms. Allred assists debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, indenture trustees and others in bankruptcies, receiverships, out-of-court workouts, Section 363 sales, debtor-in-possession (DIP) and exit financings, and related litigation.
Ms. Allred also has healthcare restructuring experience, which involves working with distressed hospitals and health systems.
Her recent representative engagements include:
- serving as local bankruptcy counsel to the debtor, a multinational fast food restaurant franchisee
- representing the administrative agent to a hospital system exiting bankruptcy
- obtaining a dismissal for an automative lending company in relation to a disputed outstanding account balance
In addition to her robust bankruptcy practice, Ms. Allred also regularly defends financial service clients against consumer claims, such as those brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), various state statutes and common law claims.
While in law school, Ms. Allred externed for Chief Judge Jennifer H. Henderson of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama, served as a senior editor of the Alabama Law Review and was awarded Order of the Coif for graduating within the top 10 percent of her law school class.
