Overview

Christopher W. Boyett serves as Deputy Section Leader of Holland & Knight's Wealth & Tax Section, where he helps lead one of the Firm's key practice areas spanning approximately 300 attorneys nationwide.

Based in Florida, Mr. Boyett counsels high-net-worth families – both domestic and international – on complex estate planning matters, including wealth transfer and preservation strategies, charitable planning and asset protection. He also advises family offices on governance, tax planning and the unique operational and legal challenges that accompany multigenerational wealth management.

A significant part of Mr. Boyett's practice focuses on presale planning, helping business owners and entrepreneurs structure their affairs before a liquidity event to maximize wealth preservation and minimize tax exposure. He also guides closely held and family-owned businesses through succession planning, navigating the intersection of business, tax and family dynamics.

Mr. Boyett regularly advises clients on change of domicile matters, assisting individuals and families as they relocate to Florida with the legal, tax and estate planning considerations necessary to ensure a smooth and effective transition. In addition, he counsels institutional and individual fiduciaries on estate and trust administration issues, including contested matters and tax compliance.

Known for his practical, client-centered approach, Mr. Boyett works closely with clients and their advisors to develop tailored plans that protect and grow wealth across generations.
