Overview

Iris del Carmen Cruz de Jesús is a legislative assistant in Holland & Knight's Mexico City office. Ms. Cruz assists with matters relating to constitutional and human rights law. Her work involves the protection of vulnerable populations, gender studies and the rights of children and adolescents.

In addition, Ms. Cruz has been a speaker at the Carbonell Studies Center, General Directorate of Human Rights of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Judicature of the State of Puebla and Center to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination in Yucatán. She has delivered lectures on legal journalism, gender studies, children and adolescent rights, and protocols for judging with a gender perspective.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Cruz held legal and research positions in Mexico at the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and Federal Judicial Training School, working on constitutional matters, judicial training and the promotion and defense of human rights.
