Morgan J. Delabar

Morgan J. Delabar represents clients in high-stakes intellectual property (IP) disputes involving patents, trademarks, trade dress and trade secrets. Based in Holland & Knight's Dallas office, she handles matters through discovery, dispositive motions and trial, drawing on experience that includes eight trials.

IP and Commercial Litigation

Morgan guides clients through all phases of IP litigation, from initial pleadings and fact and expert discovery through depositions, dispositive motions, evidentiary disputes and trial. She has handled complex Daubert challenges and oral arguments and has served as second chair in eight trials, including four jury trials. Her courtroom experience includes direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses, jury charge arguments and post-trial motions.

Government and Regulatory Matters

Morgan advises financial services clients on state and federal regulatory requirements and represents institutions and individuals facing government scrutiny. Her experience includes investigations by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

Pro Bono Representation

Morgan maintains an active pro bono practice. For example, she successfully obtained asylum for a mother and son who fled gang-related death threats in Honduras. Morgan also represents individuals facing defamation claims connected with efforts to advocate for increased regulation of midwifery practices before the Texas Legislature.

Before entering practice, she interned at an advertising agency, gaining exposure to trademark, copyright and regulatory issues. Morgan also served as a senior executive editor of the Baylor Law Review.
