Overview

Katherine "Kat" Denney is a healthcare regulatory attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. Ms. Denney focuses her practice on regulatory due diligence and operational support for healthcare providers, private equity sponsors and other industry participants.

Ms. Denney assists clients in navigating the complex regulatory considerations that arise in healthcare mergers and acquisitions and day-to-day operations, including regulatory diligence for strategic transactions, reimbursement structures, compliance risks, evolving payer frameworks, and implications under federal and state healthcare laws such as the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute.

In addition to her transactional practice, Ms. Denney advises healthcare clients on a variety of operational and compliance matters. She provides day-to-day counseling on issues such as reimbursement, licensing and regulatory compliance, as well as operational concerns that impact healthcare organizations, including reporting obligations and data privacy considerations.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Denney practiced in the healthcare group of another law firm, where she conducted regulatory due diligence for healthcare transactions and advised clients on a broad range of operational issues. In that role, she counseled clients on state and federal reporting obligations, data privacy requirements and reimbursement-related matters.
