Overview

Alex Dimock is a commercial real estate capital markets and complex litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas office. Lenders that hold distressed commercial real estate loans throughout the United States rely on Mr. Dimock and his team's significant experience to maximize recoveries. These complex recoveries generally require execution of a combination of transactional and litigation strategies. Mr. Dimock, therefore, negotiates highly complex structured finance commercial real estate transactional documents and represents clients in all phases of commercial litigation, including serving as trial counsel for lenders, financial institutions and private equity funds, obtaining injunctive relief, securing appointment of receivers in state and federal courts, and defending rights throughout the appellate process.

In addition to handling all manner of commercial real estate capital markets matters, Mr. Dimock successfully conducts internal investigations, represents professional athletes, and counsels clients with significant interests in blockchain technology.

Mr. Dimock's passion for the court system began in law school, was further formed when he clerked for the Honorable Gerald Bard Tjoflat of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and continues on to this day.

  • Represents the commercial mortgage servicing division of a national bank in regard to all manner of complex, highly structured real estate finance issues, including but not limited to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions
  • Represents a commercial real estate loan service provider in regard to all manner of CMBS, collateralized loan obligation (CLO) and balance sheet commercial real estate issues
  • Represents a real estate investment management company in regard to all manner of CMBS issues

  • Represents a real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns more than 2,000 properties valued at approximately $9.3 billion on a variety of issues

  • Represents an American bank and financial services provider in regard to all manner of loan workout issues, including receivership, loan document litigation and complicated loan structures involving the Export-Import Bank of the United States
  • Represents a commercial real estate private investment firm in regard to all manner of loan workout issues, including foreclosure, forbearance agreements and loan document litigation
  • Represents a Dallas-based banking institution in connection with all manner of banking issues, including bankruptcy and litigation against borrowers and guarantors
  • Represents banks and special servicers in all manner of receivership proceedings

  • Represents one of the largest marine transportation companies in Louisiana
  • Represents a large private multifamily investor in regard to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration and real estate litigation with private and public entities
  • Represents lenders, all manner of predecessor noteholders and special servicers in connection with commercial real estate litigation in state and federal courts, including matters involving claims for breach of contract, fraudulent transfer, common-law fraud, conspiracy, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and tortious interference
  • Represented major private equity fund and national bank as counsel in matter involving fraud and negligence claims related to a commercial loan, resulting in favorable jury verdict, including attorneys' fees
