Overview
Sanaa M. Ghanim is a business attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the Tax Practice. Ms. Ghanim focuses her practice on federal, state and local taxation matters, as well as tax credits in the renewable energy sector.
Ms. Ghanim advises public and private corporations and partnerships on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financings, restructurings and joint venture transactions, as well as all other aspects of transactional tax and tax planning matters. She also advises on Section 1202 qualified small business stock (QSBS) issues.
In addition, Ms. Ghanim has experience in the renewable energy sector and advises clients on tax credits such as investment tax credits (ITCs), production tax credits (PTCs) and other energy tax credits. She also represents clients in the traditional and renewable energy sectors in legislative and regulatory efforts, including in obtaining public and private guidance from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and IRS.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Ghanim was a summer associate in the Dallas office, where she gained experience in tax, finance and labor and employment matters.
While in law school, Ms. Ghanim served as an articles editor for the International Law Review Association. She also participated in Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) clinics, aiding qualifying individuals in the pro bono preparation of tax and other regulatory forms.
In addition, Ms. Ghanim externed for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
