Ajita Hanel

Ajita Hanel is a healthcare attorney in Holland & Knight's Houston office and a member of the Healthcare Regulatory Compliance Team.

Ms. Hanel's practice centers on counseling national healthcare providers, suppliers and companies on various regulatory and compliance matters, including Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and reimbursement disputes, change of ownership and licensure requirements. She also has experience conducting regulatory due diligence in transactions involving value-based and risk-bearing healthcare businesses, as well as structuring compensation arrangements and contractual relationships to mitigate regulatory risk and ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare fraud and abuse laws.

Ms. Hanel also has extensive experience assisting clients with complex healthcare transactions, structuring and evaluating employment and services arrangements, reviewing and negotiating payer agreements, preparing provider participation agreements and structuring corporate arrangements to support compliance with corporate practice of medicine requirements.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Hanel was a member of the healthcare practice group of another international law firm. Before her legal career, Ms. Hanel was a technology consulting manager at an international consulting firm.
