Overview
William "Bill" Jackson is a partner in Holland & Knight's Century City office and a member of the Real Estate Practice. Mr. Jackson focuses his practice on the representation of institutional investors, family offices, fund sponsors and developers in complex real estate joint venture and financing transactions.
Mr. Jackson's experience includes programmatic joint ventures, operating platform joint ventures, co-general partner (GP) joint ventures, multiparty joint ventures, limited partner (LP)-equity financing transactions and preferred equity financing transactions involving affordable housing, data center, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, office, research and development (R&D), residential and specialty properties, and debt and equity investments.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Jackson was a partner and member of the executive committee at a boutique national real estate law firm in Los Angeles, as well as the former chair of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles and the former president of the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Fire and Police Pensions.

- Representation of a state governmental housing agency in connection with the creation of a new investment program to make preferred equity investments in affordable housing development joint ventures sponsored by affordable housing developers
- Representation of an institutional real estate fund in connection with a $70 million investment in a programmatic joint venture with a retail operator to acquire neighborhood retail projects in the Midwestern U.S.
- Representation of a leading multifamily developer in the formation of a $300 million redevelopment joint venture with a leading regional mall operator to build a multifamily housing project at a regional mall located in Southern California
- Representation of a leading developer of prefabricated accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in a programmatic joint venture with a private equity fund to develop prefabricated home communities in the Western U.S.
- Representation of an institutional real estate investment fund manager in the formation of a $900 million evergreen real estate fund platform formed to make programmatic real estate joint venture investments throughout the U.S.
- Representation of an institutional real estate fund in connection with a $50 million investment in a programmatic joint venture with an affordable housing developer to develop affordable rental housing in Southern California
- Representation of an institutional real estate fund in connection with a $50 million investment in a programmatic joint venture with a leading industrial fund manager to acquire industrial properties in the Southwest U.S.
