Overview

Ryan D. Kainz is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Tampa office. Mr. Kainz focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), securities, corporate governance and general corporate matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Kainz serves as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and holds a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Kainz served as an active-duty foreign disclosure officer for U.S. Army Europe and Africa Command in Wiesbaden, Germany, where he worked closely with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies and other foreign partners.

While in law school, Mr. Kainz served as a staff editor for the Wake Forest Law Review, vice president and founding member of the Business Law Society and vice president of the Transactional Law Competition. He was active in handling pro bono matters through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, the Wills Project and the Veterans Advocacy Legal Organization (VALOR). In addition, Mr. Kainz advised entrepreneurs in Central America about raising capital and U.S. growth strategies while participating in Wake Forest University's Trade and Development Clinic. He also completed a legal externship at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Division of Corporation Finance and interned for the in-house legal department of a large defense contracting company. Upon graduation, Mr. Kainz achieved the highest score on the February 2025 Florida Bar Exam for Florida's Sixth District Court of Appeal.
