Overview
Jessica Kirk is a tax attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas office. Ms. Kirk represents taxpayers in all stages of a federal tax dispute, including audits, administrative appeals and federal income tax litigation. She works with a range of clients, including Fortune 100 companies, large partnerships, small and closely held businesses, exempt organizations and high-net-worth individuals.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Kirk is an adjunct professor at the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
Ms. Kirk has previous experience as a tax insurance broker where she secured coverage for her clients' complex U.S. federal, state, local and foreign tax issues.
Representative Experience
- Represents large business taxpayers in IRS audits and appeals involving oil, gas and energy tax issues, partnership tax issues as well as tax litigation and procedural issues, including statutes of limitations, penalties and interest
- Representing businesses in Employee Retention Credit (ERC) audits
- Representing high-net-worth individuals and other owners of private aircraft in IRS audits and appeals
- Represented a Dallas family office to resolve numerous procedural issues with the IRS regarding application of payments and other matters
- Represents taxpayers in Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, appeals, mediation and lawsuits
