Overview

Ryan Magee is a partner in Holland & Knight's Dallas office. He represents banks, finance companies, loan origination platforms, hedge funds, financial institutions, business capital companies and private funds in commercial finance matters, with a particular focus in the areas of marketplace lending and crowdfunding, healthcare finance, structured finance, rediscount/warehouse lending and real estate transactions.

Marketplace Lending and Structured Finance

Mr. Magee represents various originators, investors and leverage providers in the marketplace lending industry, and he has wide experience negotiating complex warehouse loan transactions, service contracts, bank partnership programs and related matters with institutional lenders, institutional investors, lending platform operators, banks as well as various third-party service providers within the industry.

He is highly knowledgeable in dealing with structured finance matters, such as structuring and documenting of re-discount lending, factoring and asset-based loan facilities.    

Healthcare Finance

Mr. Magee also represents lenders and investors in a wide range of matters related to pharmaceutical, biotechnological and medical device financing. He is well-versed in senior, mezzanine and subordinate debt financing for healthcare companies, the monetization of royalty streams, transactions involving synthetic royalties, and the traditional purchase of pharmaceutical and medical device royalties.

Real Estate Finance

Mr. Magee also counsels lenders, developers, buyers and sellers in the acquisition, development, leasing, disposition and financing of improved and unimproved real estate.  He has completed transactions on behalf of lenders involving office buildings, mixed-use properties, shopping centers, retail facilities, hotels, hospitality and leisure facilities, industrial facilities and condominium developments located throughout the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Before joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Magee worked for a private law firm. He also spent four years in Germany and the Balkans as a tank platoon leader, scout platoon leader and scout troop executive officer with the U.S. First Brigade Combat Team of the First Armored Division.
