Sean M. O'Brien



Sean M. O'Brien is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office. He practices primarily in the real estate and real estate finance areas. Mr. O'Brien is experienced in representing banks, debt and hedge funds, institutional investors, investment banking institutions and real estate owners in a variety of commercial real estate transactions across the United States.

Mr. O'Brien has significant experience in an array of complex real estate finance transactions, including originating loans for inclusion in securitizations (CMBS, CLO), construction, acquisition, permanent and bridge financings, loan syndications, participations and sales, mezzanine loans and preferred equity transactions. In addition, he represents financial institutions, special servicers and other entities in the restructuring, workout and foreclosure of mortgage loans. He also represents sellers and buyers in connection with the acquisition, disposition and development of commercial real estate, and represents landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions.

Mr. O'Brien has structured and closed large, multistate, multiproperty mortgage financings involving a variety of asset classes, including fee and leasehold financings of shopping centers, hotels, multifamily, self-storage and mobile home properties, retail, office and industrial buildings, condominiums and specialty projects.
