Overview
Andrew Palmer is a senior public affairs advisor in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. Mr. Palmer focuses on government relations and public affairs at the state and local levels in Tennessee, advising clients on legislative strategy, public policy engagement and strategic advocacy.
Drawing on his experience in government relations and legislative policy, Mr. Palmer helps clients navigate legislative and regulatory matters and engage effectively with elected officials, government leaders and key stakeholders.
Beyond his professional work, Mr. Palmer is active in civic and community affairs throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Palmer served in the office of U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), where he worked extensively with elected officials, agency commissioners, business leaders and community stakeholders throughout Middle Tennessee. Through that role, he developed relationships across Tennessee's political, governmental and public policy landscape and gained experience navigating government affairs matters at the federal, state and local levels. He also supported federal legislative initiatives in coordination with the senator's Washington, D.C., legislative team and monitored legislative and policy developments before the Tennessee General Assembly.
Previously, Mr. Palmer spent two years with a government affairs firm in Mississippi, advising clients on legislative and public affairs matters before the Mississippi Legislature. His responsibilities included advocacy, stakeholder engagement, legislative monitoring and policy research. Mr. Palmer also gained state government experience through his work with the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor. He gained additional experience in the judicial system while in law school through positions in the chambers of the Honorable David Mincey of the Georgia Superior Courts and the Honorable Tillman E. Self III of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.
