Overview

Danielle Reyes is a financial services attorney in Holland & Knight's Austin office.

Ms. Reyes provides broad regulatory compliance advice with a focus on traditional banking and financial technology (FinTech), including all stages of retail and small business product development, regulatory compliance, licensing, other state and federal regulatory interactions, co-branded credit card programs, FinTech-bank partnerships, fair and responsible banking, financial inclusion and Community Reinvestment Act issues.

A significant portion of Ms. Reyes' practice focuses on environmental, social and governance (ESG), including on responsible investment, financial regulatory matters, corporate social responsibility programs, non-financial reporting and human rights. Ms. Reyes creates ESG disclosures, policies and programs; drafts ESG and sustainability reports and advises on other non-financial reporting matters; conducts ESG due diligence, including advising on key performance indicators and designing remediation and oversight programs in private equity transaction, venture capital investments and mergers and acquisitions (M&A); and prepares private companies to go public. She also provides strategic advice on corporate philanthropy programs and corporate foundation issues. Additionally, she is a member of Holland & Knight's Greenwashing Mitigation Team.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Reyes has served as a faculty member in Columbia University's Master of Sustainability Management and Bard College's MBA in Sustainability programs, and she serves on the board of directors for multiple nonprofit organizations.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Reyes worked for another law firm in Washington, D.C. She previously practiced in-house for several years at a large banking and insurance company, where she focused on compliance, product development, safety and soundness matters and corporate governance.
