Edward J. Rojas is a financial services attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office and a member of the firm's Public Finance Team. Mr. Rojas' practice encompasses the full range of tax-exempt bond financings, including healthcare, educational, single family and multifamily housing, tribal bonds, transportation, airport, solid waste, infrastructure, environmental and generation facilities. His over 30 years of public finance experience includes new money and refunding issues, hedges, investment agreements, reissuance, and other arbitrage, allocation, expenditure, rebate and post-issuance compliance issues and procedures.
Mr. Rojas has extensive experience in guiding bond issuers, underwriters, borrowers and bond purchasers on a variety of tax-exempt bond financings, including residential, healthcare, infrastructure, tribal and transportation bonds, as well as tax disputes. His practice also includes tax controversy proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), including defending audits of bond financings, securing private letter rulings and voluntary settlements. He also advises on tax issues relating to 501(c)(3) institutions.
Before joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Rojas was a partner at a large law firm based in North Carolina. Prior to that, he practiced at several prominent New York law firms. He frequently serves as a panelist at the Bond Attorneys' Workshop sponsored by the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
