Alex Sisto

Alex Sisto is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Sisto focuses his practice on data strategy, privacy compliance and artificial intelligence (AI) governance, providing comprehensive counsel to clients on website privacy compliance, data sharing agreements, international data transfers, and the development and deployment of AI tools.

With deep knowledge of the evolving privacy regulatory landscape, Mr. Sisto advises clients on compliance with major federal, international and state privacy laws. He is particularly experienced with California privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and regulations enforced by the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA). Mr. Sisto regularly counsels clients on state privacy laws across jurisdictions and helps organizations prepare for and respond to federal and state enforcement actions.

Recognizing the critical importance of AI compliance, Mr. Sisto has developed a significant practice advising clients on AI legal issues. His AI compliance services include developing AI governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance with emerging AI regulations and addressing the complex legal challenges associated with machine learning, algorithmic decision-making and automated systems. Mr. Sisto helps organizations implement responsible AI practices while maintaining compliance with emerging AI regulations, data privacy laws and industry-specific regulations.

Mr. Sisto is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Sisto was an attorney at a global law firm in its New York City office and at a national law firm counseling major technology companies. Previously, he gained experience through a secondment in the privacy compliance group of a smart home security company, providing him with practical, hands-on understanding of privacy and security challenges in the technology industry.
