Overview

Mehmet Sait Ugur is an asset finance attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office. Mr. Ugur represents banks, private equity firms, leasing companies, airlines, financial institutions and corporations in general finance and asset finance matters, with a particular focus on cross-border aircraft finance and maritime finance transactions.

Mr. Ugur brings a distinct perspective to complex financing structures through his civil law background and his ability to navigate legal and regulatory issues across multiple jurisdictions. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Ugur practiced antitrust law in the Istanbul office of a global law firm, where he represented global companies in complex antitrust investigations and merger notifications.

Mr. Ugur served as a research scholar at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) in Rome. During his time at UNIDROIT, he authored a paper on Turkey's adoption of the fourth protocol to the Cape Town Convention, covering mining, agricultural and construction equipment.

Not yet admitted to the Illinois Bar; admitted to the Tennessee Bar only and practicing under the supervision of lawyers licensed to practice in Illinois.
