Kyle H. Wingfield

Kyle Wingfield is a tax attorney in Holland & Knight's Richmond office. Mr. Wingfield focuses on a variety of state and local tax matters.

Mr. Wingfield helps multistate businesses resolve complex state and local tax controversies and navigate tax issues arising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). His practice includes all phases of state and local tax controversy matters, including audits, administrative appeals and court proceedings, as well as advising on voluntary disclosures.

Mr. Wingfield also regularly advises publicly traded companies and privately held businesses on corporate income tax, sales and use tax, personal property tax and business license tax matters. His clients include manufacturers, retailers, contractors, technology companies, service providers and other multistate businesses.

Mr. Wingfield works closely with clients to understand their business objectives and develop practical solutions to tax challenges. Clients value his responsiveness, attention to detail and ability to explain complicated tax matters. He helps clients address tax issues so they can focus on operating and growing their businesses.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Wingfield is an active leader in the state and local tax community. He serves as chair of the Virginia Bar Association's Tax Section and is a member of the executive committee of the American Bar Association (ABA)'s State and Local Tax Section. He is also managing editor of Connexus, the ABA's state and local tax publication. Mr. Wingfield is a frequent speaker and author on state and local tax issues affecting multistate businesses.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Wingfield was an attorney at a full-service law firm, where he served as chair of the tax controversy and state and local tax sections. Previously, he was an attorney with one of the Big Four accounting firms, where he assisted in the preparation of state and federal tax returns and provisions for Fortune 500 companies.
