Overview

Anna Marie "Annie" Hernandez Gamez is a litigation and trial attorney who represents both publicly traded and closely held corporations, including financial institutions, domestic and international businesses, multifamily and commercial developers, asset managers, property managers, municipalities and individuals in complex commercial and real estate litigation matters throughout the state of Florida.

Ms. Gamez has substantial experience in business disputes, banking and lender liability claims, commercial foreclosure/workouts and landlord-tenant issues, title insurance claims, and a myriad of other contractual claims. She has significant experience in representing private parties and municipalities in matters involving real property, land use and zoning disputes. Ms. Gamez also has experience with the representation of various publicly traded entities and private international organizations in matters ranging from trading and hedging of precious metal commodities, non-compete and commission agreements, both consumer and commercial contractual claims related to bulk and residential cable service agreements, advertising agreements and residential leases. She also has experience with the protection of creditors' rights in related bankruptcy actions in state and federal court, defense of consumer class actions and defense of talc-associated asbestos claims.

In addition, Ms. Gamez counsels her clients from pre-suit negotiations through all phases of litigation, including trial. She has represented her clients in hearings, bench trials and jury trials in state and federal court, as well as proceedings before the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR).

Ms. Gamez is adept at both prosecuting and defending litigation. She provides value to her clients with, among other things, targeted discovery plans, strategic defenses and counterclaims to reduce liability in the primary claim, timely mediations and dispositive motions (where possible) to ensure business objectives and resolutions are reached.

Ms. Gamez was selected as a 2017 Holland & Knight Rising Star, an intensive program of leadership, management and professional skills development for female attorneys. She has a proven commitment to her community as exemplified by her service in both professional and not-for-profit organizations, and ongoing pro bono representations. Pro bono matters handled by Ms. Gamez include the successful representation of parents defending claims involving the Hague Abduction Convention, representation of minors in the foster care system as an attorney ad litem, and service as a guardian ad litem to children in family proceedings.
