White House Cybersecurity Executive Order Implementation

The EO will have profound effects across the economy and present a number of opportunities and risks for a variety of industry sectors. Even businesses that do not consider themselves to be critical infrastructure may nevertheless be impacted by the EO if their customers or affiliates include critical infrastructure. The Obama administration has stated that, "While the focus will be on the Nation's critical infrastructure, the Framework will be developed in a manner to promote wide adoption of practices to increase cybersecurity across all sectors and industry types."
