Please join Holland & Knight cybersecurity and privacy attorneys Thomas Bentz and Joel Roberson for "California Consumer Privacy Act: A U.S. Outlier or Start of a Trend?"

Our highly informative presentation will feature a panel discussion and an opportunity to ask questions regarding the recently enacted California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which comes on the heels of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The CCPA creates consumer privacy rights for individuals in California that go beyond the GDPR in some cases. This could mean entities will once again have to review and redirect their privacy and data management compliance efforts. California’s new law applies to all organizations that collect personal information on California consumers for a business purpose above certain thresholds. During the webinar, the presenters will discuss different aspects of this new law, including:

  • Does the CCPA apply to my organization?
  • How can I prepare my organization for the implementation of CCPA?
  • Is California the beginning of a U.S. trend in new consumer privacy laws?
  • How can I engage in the development of any additional privacy standards that are to come?

We hope you are able to join us for this presentation. CLE credit will be sought for this program
